Uninsulated solid walls are a significant cause of heat loss and can contribute to the increasing cost of heating your home. Insulating your property’s solid walls can help reduce the cost of your heating expenses and increase the energy efficiency of your property.
The Energy Saving Trust estimates annual savings of £390 for a semi-detached house with Solid Wall Insulation.
Solid Wall Insulation Funding
Solid Wall Insulation funding is available through the Government’s ECO4 Scheme. To qualify for funding your home must have solid external brick or stone walls and you must receive one of the ECO4 qualifying benefits or qualify under LA Flex criteria.
Solid Wall Insulation
Arktek will insulate your solid walls from inside of your property – sometimes referred to as “Internal Wall Insulation”. This methodology involves constructing a frame against your solid walls using insulated batons and insulating the area between these with mineral wool. A semi permeable membrane is then affixed to the batons before plasterboard is re-installed.
The insulation can be installed room by room, and the thickness of the insulation is around 120mm.
Internal Wall Insulation requires skirting boards, door frames and external fittings to be removed and then reattached. Our professional and experienced installers will take care of your home and will ensure you are satisfied with the work.
