What criteria does my home need to be suitable for green energy technologies under ECO4?
EPC Requirements
Your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) must demonstrate that your property requires improvements for you to qualify for ECO4.
This means that your home must have an EPC of D or lower to qualify. Homes with an EPC of D or E will be upgraded to a C or higher, and properties with a F or lower qualify for energy saving measures to get them to a minimum rate of D.

Air Source Heat Pump requirements
Most properties can have an air source heat pump installed.
Keep in mind that for the appliance to be efficient, your home needs to be adequately insulated before having one installed. Also, the property will not qualify if it already had a wet central heating system previously.
In addition to this, the appliance is located outside of your home, therefore, there must be enough external space to have one installed.
Solar Panel/Solar PV requirements
Solar PV can be installed on any elevation, however, south facing elevations will receive more solar energy throughout the day and will therefore generate more electricity than Solar PV installed on other elevations.
Because solar panels are installed on your roof, it must be in suitable condition for them to be installed effectively.
You cannot have solar PV if there are restrictions related to altering the exterior of your property – for example, if the building is listed or you live in a conservation area.
